The Elixir of the yellow Coiron Ælred is a liqueur based on fifty infused and macerated plants, sweetened with honey.

The Elixir of the yellow Coiron Ælred is a liqueur ardéchoise resulting from an elixir of life elaborated in 1249 by Benedictus of Nuraie. It is composed of about fifty infused and macerated plants, softened with honey that is 43 °alcohol.

color: -golden yellow, (saffron)

             -Éclatante

Nose:     -Complexity and finesse, vanilla, 

             -Absinthe, mugwort, vegetable then vanilla

mouth: - Bold, complex

              -Fresh, length sublimated by honey and saffron

              -Open on plant in final 

This liqueur is aged for 5 years in oak barrels that were used to make cognac and armagnac.

This recipe comes from the Deleuze distillery in Villeneuve de Berg that the monks bought in 1930.
